A cookie is a data file which is downloaded into your computer when you access certain web pages. Cookies allow web pages, among other things, to store and retrieve information about browsing habits of any particular user or their computer and, depending on the information gathered and the way they use their computer, these cookies can be used to characterize any user. The user´s browser stores cookies in the hard drive occupying minimum space and not harming the computer in any way. Cookies do not contain any sort of specific personal information, and many of them are erased from the browser when the browsing session is over (these are called session cookies).

Cookies contain codes that identify browsing details, such start time, language, browser configuration and browsing details. Under no circumstance do they identify users as persons or store data such as account numbers, addresses or any other personal data. Most browsers accept cookies regularly and allow them to store information independently of their type.

Yes, they can be deleted and blocked, all of them or those for specific sites. If we delete them, the browser “forgets” its web tour, so that it will not recognize either users or preferences. It will not allow us to identify ourselves in social media or shop online since we will not be able to operate the shopping cart. Web pages may even look totally different, depending on their website programming. Cookies are not there to spy on us, they are a resource which improves user experience and helps us improve our web page design.

Without your consent by activating it in your browser, this web page will not install any cookies, but access to web functions will be limited.

According to DURATION they can be SESSION cookies (they disappear from your device when you stop browsing our website) or PERSISTENT (they stay on your device after your browser has been closed and are retrieved when you revisit our website).

According to FUNCTIONALITY they can be TECHNICAL cookies (they allow browsing and functionalities in our website), PERSONALIZED cookies (they define browsing styles, language or currency among other things), ANALYSIS cookies (allow us to measure activity and behavior of users in our website), ADVERTISING cookies (they allow management of advertising included in our website) and finally BEHAVIORAL ADVERTISING cookies (they analyze user behavior and show specially targeted adverts).

We use technical cookies, personalized cookies and analysis cookies, in order to control access to reserved functions in our website, to maintain session security by avoiding unauthorized access to accounts, to improve loading speed of web pages and to have a statistical control of pageviews to improve functionality.

As you can see, to allow the use of cookies improves website performance and user experience.
